The Run will be in conjunction with the two week Magiko celebration of the Carson Valley. The course will take runners through scenic neighborhoods and beautiful open space surrounded by the Sierra Nevada and Pine Nut Mountain ranges. This race will be open to all ages, experience levels and families are encouraged to participate. There will be a free post event celebration for all participants, with a BBQ, ice cream social and live music. A nominal fee may be charged for non-participants, as well as an expo showcasing local businesses. EVENT DETAILS. The 10K/5k run & walk will wind through the beautiful and historic Carson Valley. The start/finish will be at the Syncon Homes Community Park and will wind through the area north of Minden. 10k Run - The course is a relatively flat road run and will be friendly for the serious athlete as well as the casual running enthusiast. Official chip timing will be provided. Registration fees $25.00; $30 after June 4th 5k Run/Walk – Open to all individuals and geared more for the runner or walker looking for a shorter distance timed run. Official chip timing will be provided. Registration fees $20.00; $25 after June 4th 5k Family Fun Walk – Open to individuals of all ages, families and children are encouraged to participate in this festive stroll through Minden area. Non-timed event. Registration fees $15.00; $20 after June 4th – Children under 12 years old $10. General Information - All registered athletes will receive a Magiko – Minden Run4Fun t-shirt, a goody welcome bag, official chip timing (if applicable) as well as a invitation to the free post run BBQ with ice cream and live music. |

Additional Information ItпїЅs called the World Of Hurt for a reasonпїЅ this race course is tough! It was designed by three crazy ultra athletes to challenge even the most seasoned runner. It is hilly, hot, rocky, sandy, steep, narrow, and single track trail. There is an 8 hour cut off time (34m runners will need to have started their second loop by the 4 hour point). There will be basic aid and water stations every 4.5 to 5.1 miles. All races will be required to start the race with at least 20 oz of water or fluid in a bottle or container. Race limit is 150 runners for both races. This is an USATF sanctioned event. Fees: Ultra $85 before 9/20, then $100. 25k $45 before 9/20, then $60. |
