After a 25 day stay and many visits to Roanoke hospitals and trips to Duke University, Dominick lost his battle on June 1,2005. In Oct. 2006 we held the 1st Dominick Tennies Memorial Car Show raising $500 for Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation. In Oct. 2007 we had the 2nd car show raising $800 and the 3rd in Oct. 2008 raising $1810 for Cure Kids Cancer of Roanoke. The Cure Kids Cancer Organization is raising money to provide equipment to a non-profit hospital to help allow them to treat more children' regardless of their ability to pay. All money raised benefits Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital Oncology program. New cancer treating equipment will allow our local hospitals to keep local children home as well as treating children in a wider area around Roanoke. Our goal is to grow each year until a cure for kid's cancer can be found. There is a long, hard road ahead of a child with cancer and its rough. We as Dominick's parents have experienced the heartache and pain that a family with a child with cancer will go through. All of these families that loose a child to cancer will have (WHAT IF'S). This event will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Battlefield High School (15000 Graduation Drive, Haymarket, VA 20169). Doors open at 8 am. Show goes from 10-2 and awards will be at 2:30. Early registration is $10. Site registration is $15. Music Corps is a charity that provides specialized music equipment for wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital. The After-Prom is an adult-chaperoned, alcohol and drug free event for this year's Seniors. 17 classes of vehicles, including cars, trucks and motorcycles. 56 trophies awarded, including best of show and people's choice.
