Notice the various deadlines. Bike Swap Meet will be available (buy/sell) to all who register for Cabin Fever Challenge. If you do not register for CFC you can still shop but if you want to sell items it will cost $5. Either way, please provide a list and descriptions of the items you plan to sell. Huffy Bike Toss is new this year. A local bicyclist is donating an old bike of his that will be used/abused for this event. Cost: $1 per throw. Location: 1pm, basketball courts (NW corner of school parking lot). Rules: the bike has to leave the ground and wherever it stops, we measure from the “throw line” (marked with tape or chalk) to the nearest point of the bike. Prizes: Three individuals with the farthest throws win: 1st: T-shirt, 2nd: Spotlit, 3rd: Spokelit. There will be complimentary Sports Massages provided by the American Academy of Massage Therapy. When you register please indicate if you would like a sports massage so the Academy knows how many massage therapists should be available. Each registered participant receives: Cabin Fever Challenge T-shirt if you register by March 12. Bountiful breakfast before the ride (730 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.) if you and/or non-riders register by March 20. Tasty snacks including Harvest Lark bars (www.harvestlark.com), fruit, water and Gatorade mix at stops. Bike Swap Meet (Please provide your items for sale by March 12 if possible. This will allow more time for publicity.) Bicycle mechanic available at start provided by The Pathfinder (www.thepathfinder.net). SAG support provided by Manhattan Area Amateur Radio Society. Showers available if you bring your own towel, soap. Complimentary sports massage provided by the American Academy of Massage Therapy. |
| 10/03/2009 Yellow Brick Road Ride 81, 41.5, 27 and 15 mile routes Wamego KS D. Novak www.wam-sag-man.org/yellowbrickroadride.php The 5th Annual Yellow Brick Road Ride is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Wamego, KS and held in conjunction with OZtoberFest (www.oztoberfest.com). Four paved routes: (81, 41.5, 27, and 15 mile). Each participant receives: - 2009 Yellow Brick Road Ride T-shirt (if pre-registered by Sept 17) - Tasty breakfast before the ride (7 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.) (if pre-registered by Sept 29) - Lots of homemade cookies and snacks, fruit, water and Gatorade mix at rest stops - Bicycle mechanic available at start for minor repairs and at #2 rest stop on 41.5/81 mile route - Route support - Shower facilities (bring your own towel and soap) - Sports massage - Awesome views of the Flint Hills - Entry for drawings Complete details, on-line registration and registration forms are available on the website. |
