| May 16-17, 2009 Bike MS "Coast the Coast" is a chance for all those in Middlesex, Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties to come out and cycle from Monmouth University to Cape May. Funds raised from this ride will benefit all those families and individuals currently suffering from MS. Bike MS "Coast the Coast" offers a number of different ride options, varying from one and two day rides, 25, 50, 85 or 170 miles long. This event occurs May 16-17, 2009. Our ride offers a choice of scenic routes filled with history, charm and impressive country estates. Before you begin the ride help yourself to a complimentary breakfast and have your bike inspected by one of our volunteer bike mechanics. You can expect a route that is fully supported with SAG vehicles, volunteer assistance and rest stops stocked with fruit, snacks, water and sports drinks. When you return to the finish line you will be greeted by volunteers cheering you on and a complimentary lunch to help you refuel. Your efforts will help support the nearly 24 million Americans with diabetes. |

Full lunch buffet in air-conditioned cafeteria after riding. A great chance to tour our area's incredible history … to show that bicycles belong— for recreation, transportation and health… and to raise money for the local Ambulance Squads vital to riders and our community. Organized by the Morris Area Freewheelers, one of NJ’s largest adult bicycle touring clubs. Presented by Atlantic Health, a recognized leader in quality health care for New Jersey and nationwide. Four fully marked rides, all with cue sheets: 12-miler For newer cyclists, heads to Washington's HQ at the Ford Mansion in Morristown—mostly on bike paths. Start 10:30 a.m. 25-miler On flat to rolling terrain with a few hills through some of the most historic areas out New Vernon way. Start 10:00 a.m. 40-miler (start 9 a.m.) and 62-miler (start 8 a.m.) For more experienced riders, with fast flats, some challenging hills and a great rest stop in the Jockey Hollow area of the Morristown National Historical Park where the Continental Army spent the worst winter of the Revolution. Before and after: Morning get-you-going refreshments. Post-ride: an all-you-can-eat buffet from 11-3. Showers if you need them. Bike expo, music, massage and entertainment. |
