See one of the world's finest collections of aircraft, including Howard Hughes' famous Spruce Goose, at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Parking is available at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Our course for the 5K run/race winds through the beautiful property at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Be prepared for dirt and paved roads and wonderful scenery such as vineyards, cornfields and, of course, airplanes! We will have marked volunteers and orange cones directing runners through the course. Jogging strollers are welcome. Funds raised by this event benefit the Answer to Cancer Foundation, which works with local and national non-profit organizations to provide education, research and hopefully ultimately cure liver cancer and liver disease

8/11/07 The Kirk Spencer 5K Fun Run/Walk & Tailgater 5k Willamette Park, 1900 Volpp St, West Linn, OR 97068 Oregon www.kirkspencer.org WHAT: The Kirk Spencer 5K Fun Run/Walk & Tailgater will offer participants a chance to enjoy a scenic 5K distance event followed by a Tailgater complete with food, beverages, and a kids' play area featuring face painters, a dunk tank, and bounce house. WHEN: Saturday, August 11 (4:00 p.m. - dusk) WHERE: Willamette Park, West Linn, OR WHY: The Kirk Spencer Fun Run/Walk & Tailgater was created to honor a man whose life was dedicated to helping others and who passed away suddenly at the young age of 36 to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Because his life - and many others suffering from SCA - could have been saved by an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), a foundation created in Kirk's name is now devoted to promoting AED education and helping bring AEDs to public venues where they are most needed. Now in its third year, this fundraising event has been responsible for helping install AEDs in every public school in the West Linn/Wilsonville School District. The Foundation also has helped pass legislation requiring AEDs in all fitness facilities with 100+ members. WHO:Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate. DETAILS: Registration is $45 for adults (18+), $20 (11-18), and $5 for children 10 and younger. Registration fee includes event t-shirt, food, and beverages.
