Need a reason to get motivated? Join VMRC for our Fall 5K Run/Walk VMRC is proud to celebrate Active Aging Week with the Wellness Center 5K Run/Walk. VMRC has served the needs of the senior population in our community for over 50 years. During the last decade, VMRC’s Wellness Center has been a vital part of this mission, promoting health and wellness to VMRC residents and to the broader community. Through education, strength and cardio training and aquatics programming the VMRC Wellness Center offers opportunities for individualized exercise designed specifically to meet the needs of those 50 years of age and older. Whether training for a triathlon or recovering from hip or knee replacement, the VMRC Wellness Center is a place where you can reach your goals and remain active as you age. Entry Fee & Registration

• Minimum donation of $15 per person.
Fees are nonrefundable and
nontransferable.

• Participants who register by 7:00 p.m.
September 8 will be guaranteed a t-shirt
in their size.

Packet Pickup

After registering, packets will be available at
the VMRC Wellness Center 1 to 5 p.m.,
Thursday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
Friday, Sept. 25 and race morning 7 to
8:30 a.m. Packets include race number
and other information pertaining to race day.

• Participants MUST check in by 8:30 a.m.
• Water at the start and finish line.
• All participants are invited to use the
VMRC Wellness Center on race day free of charge.

Race Policies

Open to all ages. Pets must be on a leash.
No roller blades please. You may bring
strollers. Wheelchairs welcome.

Awards

An awards ceremony begins at 10:15 a.m.
Awards will be presented to the top three
male and female finishers, in addition to
numerous drawings for prizes during the ceremony.

Post Race Celebrations

After crossing the finish line, all participants
are invited to enjoy the complimentary food

Every participant must sign this waiver Runner’s Agreement, Waiver, Release and Acknowledgement

I know that running/walking a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of you accepting my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the VMRC Wellness Center from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for legitimate purpose.
