8/18/2007 Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two-Mile Race half marathon, 2 mile race, kids races Downtown Parkersburg, WV West Virginia Morgan Staley 800-642-1997 http://www.NewsandSentinel.com/halfmarathon halfmarathon@newsandsentinel.com Designated as the RRCA National Half Marathon Championship for the third year, the race begins at 8 a.m. in downtown Parkersburg. The rolling course takes you out of the city and into the scenic surroundings of West Virginia before looping back into the commercial area. The race finishes to the cheers of thousands of spectators lined up on Market Street prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade. Complimentary pasta dinner and pizza lunch for half marathon participants. Every finisher in the half marathon receives a medal. Over $30,000 in prize money awarded. Top two-mile finishers receive a trophy. All race participants receive a T-shirt. Junior Race and Tiny Tot Trot held the next day (Sunday, August 19) at the Parkersburg High School Stadium.

The 13.1 mile course will start in downtown Parkersburg and will take you out to the scenic surroundings of the city before looping back into the commercial area. The Half Marathon features divisions for runners, walkers, and wheelchair participants. The Two Mile Race takes place in downtown Parkersburg. Running, walking, and team divisions make up the race.
