Every 20 seconds someone will take to the stairs and race to the top. They will take elevator down and head to McFadden's for the afterparty. Racing medals given out for gender and age categories. Funds raised support the American Lung Association. This stair climb race is 29 floors. Ages 13+. All athletic abilities welcome. Unique opportunity to test ones stamina and strength. Great team event.

The inaugural race will start and finish downtown in front of the State House on Gaspee Street, travel past many of Providence’s major landmarks such as the Roger Williams Memorial and Athenaeum Library, loop through College Hill by the three major universities, Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Johnson and Wales; and wind through Mount Hope, traversing along Swan Point, Blackstone Park, and India Point with beautiful views of the Seekonk River. Runners will enjoy scenic water views along the final mile of the course, as they head back downtown to the finish line and post-race concert near the Capitol! • The race is very convenient for those travelling to Providence. The start, finish, and Expo are all within blocks of the Amtrak station and downtown area hotels. Drive time is quick for those in the New England area: it’s a 1 hour drive time from Boston, 2.5 hours from Portland, ME, and 3-4 hours from Provincetown, MA or NYC. • Scenic points of interest include a start and finish at the State House, Capitol and College Hill neighborhoods, Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art, Providence Harbor and more.
