As future health care providers, we have collectively decided to extend our fight beyond the classroom by joining forces with the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation (ACCRF) to raise money for research into a treatment/cure for this disease. Cancer cells from our classmate have been injected into mice to recreate the ACC disease state and are being used to test new therapies (currently there is no effective chemotherapy for metastatic or unresectable tumors caused by this disease).
