Hi, I would like to share my story with you because I want to reach out to other women who are being faced with the same challenges I am. If I can help just one person, that would be a wonderful thing. I am 44 years old and am in surgical menopause. I was overweight, had a lot of hot flashes and didn't feel good at all. I decided I needed to make some changes in my life. I started by changing my diet (watching my calorie intake) cutting back on pasta, potatoes, rice, bread and all soda. I purchased a pedometer and started walking with weights and do between 20,000-30,000 steps a day. I started drinking a lot of water and taking multiple vitamins. Since last May of 2009, I have lost 70 lbs and I feel great. I have more energy than ever, my hot flashes have gone from 20-25 a day, to around 8-10 a day. It has truly put my menopause symptoms at bay and much more tolerable. People are constantly saying how much weight I lost and how much happier I seem and that I should share my weight loss story with others. I was contacted by NBC10 Health Watch in Philadelphia PA and I was on their show this past Monday. I have also started a Facebook Page called Steps To Good Health, to be a support system for women. Menopause is a very challenging time in a woman's life, I would love to share my story and spread the word about my Facebook Page. Thank you so much for your time. Peggy Bradford
