Wheeler Airport and back to the River Market. All funds raised by this event will stay in the KC Metro Area, providing no-cost training and competition year-round for more than 2,000 local Special Olympics athletes with mental and developmental disabilities.

Strap on your skates! Life Skills’ 5th Annual Walk Run ‘n Roll event is headed to Tower Grove Park! Corporate teams, families and individuals are invited to walk, run or roll (i.e. skates, wheelchairs, strollers and wagons) for pledged donations. Proceeds from the Walk Run ‘n Roll will benefit Life Skills’ services, which help people with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals, living in the community and making friends. Participants can choose to walk, run or roll their way to the finish line in either a 5K or one mile race. The 5th Annual Walk Run ‘n Roll features live music and exciting activities for the kids such as face painting and a bounce house! Food and beverages will be available for purchase. CASA advocates speak up in Court so these children find safe homes as quickly as possible. This annual event is part of the Third Annual BLUE Campaign, which encourages the community to Do Something BLUE for CASA Kids. BLUE represents child abuse awareness and prevention, and the campaign will run throughout spring ending in the month of April, which is Child Abuse Awareness Month. !

Each foster home can house up to 8 children from 0-18. Most of the children are placed in the homes by child services when the child has been taken out of their parent’s home due to abuse or neglect. All of the children are from Columbia and the surrounding areas. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Coyote Hill.

Join us underground! Motley Crew Vault Club and USATF Ozark Association are pleased to annouce the 1st Annual Crystal City Cave Run in Crystal City, Missouri. The race is a fundraiser for our pole vault club. There will be 2 races, a 5k and a Mine Mile, ran underground in a sand mine on Saturday November 14th. The course has a lake, sand dunes, and of course is underground. For the 5k Race: $30 early registration / $35 day of. Entry fee includes t-shirt. Race will start outside to give the runners time to spread out before they enter the mine. The end will be within the cave to avoid any shock that may accompany running from an indoor environment into what will likely be a chilly November climate. Walkers are welcome to compete as well. For the Mine Mile: $10 early registration / $15 day of. Entry fee includes t-shirt. The entire race will take place within the mine. It will be a run and raffle. Runners will be given tickets with their bib numbers. Along the way, there will be prizes with buckets near them. Athletes can choose which buckets they want to drop their tickets in. You can drop all in one or spread them out. All ages are welcome. Walkers are welcome to compete as well. Awards: 5k: The top three runners in each age group will get medals. The age groups are: under 13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and over 65. Mine Mile: The top three runners in each age group will get extra tickets.
