03/05/2011 AdventureMax Off-Road Team Triathlon The race will be 2-3 miles of canoeing, 12-15 miles of mountain biking (off-road and gravel road), 3-5 miles of running, and possibly a mystery event. The race will take place primarily off-road. You will race as a 2-Person Team (Male - Female - Coed). This race is all about teamwork. Your team will start, race and finish together. The race will be 2-3 miles of canoeing, 12-15 miles of mountain biking (off-road and gravel road), 3-5 miles of running, and possibly a mystery event. You will be given maps the day prior to the race. There will be no orienteering sections on the course. You WILL be required to perform very basic map navigation/reading to complete the race. It will be clear and will not be complicated. The course will be roughly marked, but some very basic map skills will be required. The Team Triathlon will also have Passports and will collect control points along the way on each leg of the race. This race is designed to be an introduction into adventure racing, without the specific orientation and related skills. Washington, Cuba Missouri Rachelle Austin 573-881-1581 http://www.jog-inc.com/Jog,_Inc._Site/Race_to_the_Rocker.html rachaustin2000@yahoo.com JOG, inc., or Joggers of God, in Cuba is teaming with the Route 66 Fanning Outpost General Store to sponsor a unique four-mile “straight shot” run to the distinctive 42-foot steel rocking chair that looms over Route 66, 4 miles west of central Cuba. The 2011 race is slated for March 26, 2011, rain or shine, at 9:00 am. It will start from Britton Funeral Home at 904 W. Washington. Cuba, designated “Route 66 Mural City,” by the Missouri Legislature for its 12 outdoor murals is an attraction for travelers who stop to visit the city’s artwork. The commissioning of the murals by Viva Cuba, a local beautification organization, encouraged additional paintings and sculptures inside and outside businesses throughout the town as the community embraced the idea of public art. According to race director Brad Austin, “This is a chance to combine both the running, which our group loves, and the town’s art with a fun event to benefit the community.” The money made from the race will be donated to a charity which will benefit the Cuba community.

The race is 10K and it is unique to the world of adventure racing. This is definitely not something you could set up in your backyard. What is DGAP? DGAP stands for Division for Generally Athletic People or Don't Give A Poop (about my placement). It is the FUN RUN division. There are no requirements for attire, gender or team size. IT IS AN INDIVIDUAL ENTRY! There's NO TEAM OPTION DURING REGISTRATION but you can form as a team at the race in any way you want! Again you can wear anything, run as fast or slow as you want, wear tennis shoes, wear shorts, wear costumes, run as a team of any size, have fun, stop and play, anything you want.
