We also have a kids marathon, for which kids log 25 miles of running throughout several months, then run the final mile of their 'marathon' across the suspension bridge to claim their medals. 26.2 miles of Central Texas hills make for a challenging course. Marathonguide.com considers ours to be one of the most scenic and challenging courses in the country. Highlighting Waco's most valuable assets, the race runs through the Baylor campus, up historic Austin Avenue, climbing up Lake Shore Drive, through the hills of MCC, and finally requiring the athletes to tackle the gorgeous but relentless hills of Cameron Park. The finish line is just over the historic suspension bridge, making for a fabulous finisher photo |
